Using the PJP Colors

Color is one of the most recognizable elements of the Pope John Paul II High School brand.

Consistent color usage strengthens brand recognition and ensures clarity across digital, print, and environmental applications.

Only the colors outlined on this page are approved for official use.

Brand Colors

The colors of Pope John Paul II High School tell the story of who we are. Each one represents a pillar of our identity: faith that guides us, pride that unites us, and heritage that connects us to generations past. Together, these colors symbolize the spirit of our community and the mission we carry forward every day.

MARIAN BLUE

#062538

A deep and dignified blue that reflects Pope John Paul II’s devotion to the Blessed Mother. Marian Blue represents faith, wisdom, and the strength of our Catholic foundation.

Marian Blue is the foundation of the PJP visual identity and should be the most dominant color across communications.

Use Marian Blue for:

  • Website headers and navigation

  • Primary backgrounds

  • Headings and major layout elements

  • Formal and institutional materials

PANTHER GOLD

#ffc535

A bright and spirited gold that celebrates school pride and the heart of the Panther community. Panther Gold stands for excellence, unity, and the light of Christ that shines through our students.

Panther Gold is the primary accent color and should be used to bring energy and emphasis to designs.

Use Panther Gold for:

  • Highlights and emphasis

  • Calls to action

  • Buttons, dividers, and key details

  • Athletics and spirit-focused materials

Use intentionally. Panther Gold should enhance, not overpower.

HERITAGE RED

#971b1e

A bold and timeless red that honors the legacy and tradition of PJP and its predecessor schools. Heritage Red symbolizes courage, service, and the enduring passion of those who built our community.

Heritage Red is a secondary accent color and should be used sparingly.

Use Heritage Red for:

  • Alumni and legacy communications

  • Ceremonial or commemorative materials

  • Occasional emphasis in long-form layouts

Heritage Red should never replace Marian Blue as a primary color.

Color Hierarchy

To maintain visual consistency, colors should be used in the following order:

  1. Marian Blue

  2. Panther Gold

  3. Heritage Red

Most designs should feel grounded in Marian Blue, with accent colors used selectively.

Accessibility and Contrast

Color usage must support readability and accessibility.

Accessibility guidelines:

  • Ensure sufficient contrast between text and background

  • Use dark text on light backgrounds and light text on dark backgrounds

  • Avoid placing text directly on complex images without overlays

  • Do not rely on color alone to communicate important information

Accessibility ensures that all audiences can engage with PJP communications.

Prohibited Color Use

The following uses are not permitted:

  • Introducing new or unofficial colors

  • Substituting brand colors with similar shades

  • Overusing accent colors

  • Using gradients or effects without approval

  • Applying brand colors in a way that reduces readability

Consistency is essential to protecting the PJP brand.
