BRAND RESOURCE CENTER

our School. our pride.

Our identity is inherited, not invented.

This is where the brand of Pope John Paul II High School lives, along with where each element came from and how to use them. Whether you are printing a program, ordering team gear, setting up an email signature, or working with an outside vendor, start here.

FIRST IMPRESSIOn matters

Most people meet this school before they ever set foot in it.

A hoodie in the Wegmans parking lot. A car magnet during rush hour. A flyer shared on Facebook. All of it adds up to the same impression, whether we planned it or not.

Keeping that impression consistent is what this resource is for. It is not here to slow anyone down or to make good work harder to produce. It is here so that everyone representing the school has the same answers, the same files, and someone to ask when a question comes up.

If you are making something and you are not certain, please ask. There is no wrong question here and no approval to earn. We would much rather send you the right file than help you fix a misprint.

Who We Are

A Catholic, college-preparatory high school in Royersford, Pennsylvania.

Founded in 2010, PJP carries forward more than 150 years of Catholic education through the unification of the legacy high schools that came before it. Our identity honors that tradition while preparing students for what comes next.

Our Vision

In a God-centered environment, rooted in the Catholic faith, we strive to cultivate the intrinsic talents of each individual, to become a lifelong learner who possesses the spiritual, personal and intellectual skills necessary to navigate life’s challenges.

Our Mission

Pope John Paul II assists in the formation of students to be full and practicing members of the Church while simultaneously recognizing and respecting the diversity of our student body.

We are an inclusive community centered on academic excellence that rigorously prepares students to be contributing members of the global community as disciples of Christ, with the ultimate goal of eternity in Heaven.

What We Believe

  • Every person is created in the image of God, whose love is unconditional. God has given each a unique personality, talents, and abilities to pursue his or her distinct calling in life.

  • Every person has the right to be valued and respected.

  • Every student can reach spiritual, personal, and academic potential when placed in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment.

  • Every student should be given the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed at Pope John Paul II High School and beyond.

In Our Own Words

How We Describe Ourselves

Use these as written rather than paraphrasing them. Consistent description is what makes a school recognizable to people encountering it for the first time. If you need something shorter, longer, or angled differently, ask and we will write it with you.

Short Description

Pope John Paul II High School is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school in Royersford, Pennsylvania, serving students in grades nine through twelve.

Elevator Pitch

Pope John Paul II High School is a Catholic college-preparatory school in Montgomery County built on more than 150 years of Catholic educational legacy. Founded in 2010 through the unification of six historic high schools, PJP combines academic excellence, faith formation, and a strong sense of community. Our graduates carry forward this legacy as lifelong learners, leaders of character, and disciples of Christ prepared to serve the world.

Our Namesake

The Man Our School Is Named For

Karol Wojtyła was born in Poland in 1920. His home country was under occupation and the seminaries had been closed, so he worked in a limestone quarry during the day and studied for the priesthood at night, illegally.

He went on to ski into his seventies, write plays, and teach philosophy. In 1983 he visited the prison cell of the man who had shot him two years earlier, and forgave him.

Six days after his election, standing before an uncertain crowd, he told them, "be not afraid."

This school took his name in 2010. Our seal is a version of the coat of arms he chose for himself in 1978, and our colors come in part from the same place.

OUR MOTTO

Be Not Afraid

Reserved for the moments and the places that can carry it. Ceremony, formation, graduation, permanent installations in the building, and students who have done something difficult. It loses its weight on an ordinary flyer.

Our Pillars

Faith, Service, Excellence

Three categories rather than three slogans. Every program, appeal, and publication files under one of them, whether or not the pillar is named in the copy. None of the three came from a list of virtues. Each one comes from his life.

Faith

Formed in a quarry and tested by three funerals before he was twenty-one. It was never inherited comfortably, and it is not meant to be assumed here either.

Service

For years he celebrated Mass in an open field at Nowa Huta, where the government would not permit a church to be built. Our students serve because it is the work, not because it is required.

Excellence

He was an actor, an athlete, a teacher, and a writer. He treated doing things well as part of being fully human, and so do we.

One line per piece. The motto, the tagline, and a pillar should never appear together on the same graphic, post, or page. Side by side they compete and none of them lands. Choose the one that fits and let it do its job.

Our Names

What We Call Ourselves

On first reference, in any document, we are Pope John Paul II High School. After that we are PJP. And POPE is the first word of our name, claimed by the community. It belongs to athletics, spirit wear, and the student section rather than to formal or ceremonial writing. PJPII is a monogram, not a name, and it does not belong in a sentence.

In athletics and spirit we are the Golden Panthers, or the Panthers for short. Paulie the Panther is our mascot, Panther Pride is what we call the spirit, The Pride is our community, and The Den is home.

Who this is for

Anyone Representing the School

The PJP brand is a shared responsibility, and it belongs to a far larger group than the marketing office. These standards are public rather than filed in the staff portal for that reason.

  • Administration, faculty, and staff

  • Students and student organizations

  • Coaches and athletics teams

  • Alumni and parent organizations

  • Volunteers and event committees

  • Printers, vendors, sponsors, and partners

Our alma mater says it better than a brand document can. A heritage from years gone by will guide us to success. What we inherited is not here to be protected. It is here to be used.

DOWNLOAD FILES

Tell us what you're making and we'll send the right file.

Every approved file lives in one place, in whatever format your printer asks for. Marketing hands out access so we know who's got our artwork, which means we can tell you when a file changes instead of you finding out from a banner.

Request Access to Files

Please don't forward the folder link or pull artwork off this page. Send us the job before it goes to production, especially uniforms, signage, shop lines and badges, and we'll get your vendor the right file for you.
