At Pope John Paul II High School, we believe students who demonstrate academic achievement deserve to be recognized. PJP’s Merit Scholarship Program awards up to $6,500 annually to qualifying incoming students, helping make a Catholic, college-preparatory education more accessible to families.
Merit scholarships are awarded to incoming 9th grade students based on a combination of academic performance and High School Placement Test (HSPT) results. The HSPT is an important part of the merit scholarship process. Students must take the HSPT to be considered for PJP's merit-based scholarships.

Didn’t Take the HSPT?
There’s Still an Opportunity.
We know the path to PJP looks different for every student. The St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship provides another opportunity for academically strong students who are seeking a Catholic education but did not take the HSPT.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship provides an additional opportunity for academically accomplished students entering ninth grade from a public school who are seeking a Catholic education but did not take the HSPT. Eligible students must demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 95 or higher and complete a FACTS financial aid application, along with an essay describing their interest in attending Pope John Paul II High School.
