EITC / OSTC Opportunities

Businesses in Pennsylvania can receive up to a 90% tax credit by donating to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. By directing tax dollars your business will already be paying, you can help provide a quality education for children who otherwise would not be able to afford it. The EITC tax credits allow businesses to make these donations for pennies on the dollar. PJP works with representatives from BLOCS to ensure that this process is streamlined for businesses. Companies paying the following taxes are eligible to apply:
  • Corporate Net Income Tax
  • Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
  • Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
  • Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
  • Insurance Premiums Tax
  • Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
  • Personal Income Tax of S-Corporation Shareholders or partners in a limited or general partnership
Individuals you can make an IMPACT through your individual taxes!

PJP is excited to partner with Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS)

How It Works:

Individuals or legal entities whose income exceeds $200,000 in each of the two most recent years or whose joint income together with a spouse exceeds $300,000 in each of those years may join BLOCS in the BLOCS SCHOLARSHIP LLC. You agree to make a minimum $7000 contribution for a 2 year commitment to fund the LLC. Members are solicited to reach the maximum of $833,333 and then issued tax credits according to each member's percentage interest in the LLC. These credits can then be applied to a Pennsylvania tax liability and directed to PJP. Over 101 scholarships were given to PJP students this year from BLOCS.

If you are interested in joining the BLOCS LLC or learning more about how your business can take advantage of these credits, please contact Stacy Gallagher, Executive Director of Advancement and Engagement at 484-975-6529 or by email at sgallagher@pjphs.org
