PJP Hires New Football Coach

Pope John Paul II High School (PJP) announced that Scott Reed has accepted the position of Head Football Coach.  Coach Reed is currently an Assistant Football Coach on the PJP Staff.

Scott Reed began his coaching career in 2004, at the age of 24, at Perkiomen Valley High School.  He served as Head Football Coach at Perkiomen Valley from 2004-2015.  During his distinguished tenure, Scott guided the Vikings to two Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships.  His Vikings also qualified for the District Playoffs three times.  Scott Reed was twice named Times Herald Coach of the Year. Scott still holds the distinction of being one of the youngest first year head coaches in the history of the PIAA, when he was hired at Perkiomen Valley High School.

Coach Reed is a 1996 graduate of St. Pius X High School, one of PJP’s Legacy High Schools.  As a member of the Winged Lions, Scott  was a standout football player.  Scott  went on to enjoy a prolific football career at West Chester University where he was an All PSAC performer and captain of the Rams.  Scott received his BS in Health and Physical Education from West Chester in 2001 and his MS in 2004 from East Stroudsburg University.  Scott currently lives in Pottstown with his wife, Debbie, and their four children, Braden (15), Maddie (12), Kylie (8), and Lexie (5).
