Ways of Supporting PJP
The office provides opportunities for individuals and corporations to support the tuition assistance needs of students and families in our community, and it helps to assure that annual operating costs of the school are met. Staff and volunteers work to generate income for special projects and programs to enrich students’ academic and spiritual experiences while attending PJP. The office also coordinates special events for alumni from St. Pius X High School, Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School, Archbishop Kennedy High School, Bishop Kenrick High School, St. Patrick High School and St. Matthew High School.
We encourage you to partner with PJP as we provide a state-of-the-art Catholic education experience for hundreds of students. Many giving opportunities exist at PJP, which are listed below. We welcome your support of one or more of these giving opportunities. Every gift impacts the lives of our students.
Thank you for your interest in supporting PJP!
Capital Campaign
“Our Legacy of Faith” is a $5 million dollar capital campaign in support of the new Pope John Paul II High School currently under construction in Upper Providence Township, Pennsylvania.
Many opportunities exist to support this project with a pledge over three to five years. Naming opportunities are also available for leadership gifts.
We encourage you to contact the Office of Advancement at 484-975-6500 x 3006 for additional information regarding this campaign. We would be happy to discuss in further detail the campaign and how your support will benefit our students!
Annual Fund
Giving a gift to the PJP Annual Fund provides an unrestricted source of income for all the programs and activities offered at PJP. We encourage all our alumni, parents, grandparents, businesses, reunion classes, and our senior class each to consider a gift to the Annual Fund. Gifts to the Annual Fund may be made from July 1 – June 30 each school year.

Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC)
The EITC program provides businesses a tax credit for donations made to scholarship or educational improvement organizations. The tax credit is a 75% credit (against taxes owed) if a company makes a commitment for one year or increases to 90% for a 2-year commitment. Businesses must submit each year a one-page application to the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for the tax credit. If there are funds available and the company does not owe back taxes, DCED will send an approval letter to the applicant. The company then has 60 days to make a donation and 90 days to send proof of the donation to DCED. Businesses and any of their operating subsidiaries are allowed to make contributions of up to $300,000 per taxable year. Companies paying the following taxes are eligible to apply:
- Corporate Net Income Tax
- Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
- Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
- Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
- Insurance Premiums Tax
- Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
- Personal Income Tax of S-Corporation Shareholders or partners in a limited or general partnership

Sponsor-a-Student
The value of Catholic education is a forever opportunity that a student takes with them throughout the rest of their lives. For some, they need a benefactor who believes in the academic and spiritual foundation of a Catholic education. We encourage you to Sponsor-a-Student who may not otherwise be able to afford this opportunity. During the 2010-2011 school year, the following Sponsor-a-Student levels exist:
Full Tuition Scholarship- $6,350
Half Tuition Scholarship- $3,175
Quarter Tuition Scholarship- $1,587.50
Monthly Tuition Scholarship- $635
Matching Gifts
Many companies offer their employees, spouses, and retirees an opportunity to financially support a favorite charity and at the same time receive a matching contribution from their employer through their Matching Gift program. We encourage you to consult with your Human Resources Department to see if your company has a designated Matching Gift program, what program areas they will support, and what is the maximum amount they will match each year. Make sure to obtain the appropriate matching gift form and return it along with your gift to PJP. We will complete the necessary information on behalf of PJP and return it to your company for processing of their gift.
Tributes and Memorials
Gifts in honor of an alum, parent, grandparent, student, friend or loved one can be made for special remembrances such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, new arrivals, graduation, holidays, new job, new home, religious observation, or special accomplishment.
Gifts in memory of an alum, parent, grandparent, student, friend, or loved one can be made through a donation to the school or by requesting a Mass intention. To request a special Mass, print and complete the special Mass Intention form (link below) and return to the Office of Advancement.
These gifts are truly appreciated by PJP and will be acknowledged to the appropriate individual or family through a thank you letter sent by the Office of Advancement.
Planned Giving
Planned gifts are important ways to strengthen, enhance, and ensure the future educational experiences for students at PJP.
These deferred gifts can be designated as charitable bequests in your will or through other options such as charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, or making PJP a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. These planned giving options allow a donor to control and use their assets during their lifetime, while at the same time including PJP in their estate plans.
We recommend you consult with your attorney, accountant, and/or tax advisor when considering a charitable bequest to PJP.
