On Monday, May 14, PJP will kick off Fine Arts Week with the Second Annual Spring Arts Show from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Grand Hall. On Tuesday, May 15, there will be a Spring Concert in the Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. (to include performances by the Bands, Dance Team, Liturgical Music Group, etc.). The festival continues on Wednesday evening, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. with a Student Coffeehouse (acoustic music, poetry, etc.) in the library. And, finally, on Thursday, PJP's Studio 38 will perform (2) One-Act Plays - War Letters & The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. This "one time only" performance begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Please support the arts at Pope John Paul II High School by attending the Spring Arts Festival events featuring so many of our talented students!
Pope John Paul II High School congratulates James (Jimmy) Lewis, PJP Class of 2012, for earning the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boys Scouts of America. Jimmy was also honored on May 8 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul with the St. Timothy Award for his commitment to leadership and discipleship to others. The St. Timothy Award is the highest recognition from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry that a diocese may offer. The following students from PJP were also awarded the St. Timothy Award on 5/8: Sam Brennan (St. Eleanor), Brendan Logue (St. Ann), Brian McCluskey (St. Teresa of Avila), Ryan Mitchell (St. Eleanor), Edmund Rothwein (St. Eleanor), Jacqueline Smith (St. Philip Neri) and Regina Souder (St. Philip Neri). We are so proud of you all!
On Saturday, May 19, there will be a Clothing, Accessory and Toy Drive at PJP from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. to help fund the Senior Signing Night. Items being collected include: Usable and wearable clothing for all seasons and all sizes. Men's, women's and children's clothing and shoes, pocketbooks, belts, backpacks, hats, scarves, gloves, briefcases, ties, handbags, baby accessories, blankets, tablecloths, bed sheets, drapery, curtains, pillows, towels, small rugs, quilts comforters, Beanie Babies, rag dolls, stuffed animals, action figures, cars, trucks, airplanes, doll houses and dolls. (HARD TOYS SHOULD BE PLACED IN CARDBOARD BOXES NOT BAGS) In conjunction with your spring cleaning, please help support this event!

Distribution of Graduation Materials
Attention Seniors & Parents: Time is running out to bring in college acceptance and scholarship letters to the PJP Guidance Office. Any letters of scholarship, acceptance, or financial aid turned in to the Guidance Office between now and Friday, May 4th will earn seniors a chance to win a $50 Wawa GiftCard. Each letter will count as one entry, so the more letters a student brings in, the more chances he/she will have to win. Any duplicate letters of ones already received will not be counted. ALL SCHOLARSHIP LETTERS MUST BE IN BY MAY 10th FOR INCLUSION IN THE 2012 GRADUATION BOOKLET.
