Pope John Paul II High School's Eighth Grade Scholarship Test is on Saturday, October 7 from 9:00 a.m. until noon. If your child is unable to take the test on October 7, there is a make-up test date which will take place after school on Monday, October 16 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The PJP scholarship test is an optional test; it is not a placement or entrance test. Students who receive the highest scores on the PJP scholarship test will be invited back in December to interview for potential scholarship opportunities.
PJP offered the Class of 2021 a record $96,000 in academic scholarships as a result of the scholarship test. Close to half a million dollars in scholarships, grants and financial aid were awarded to PJP students for the 2017-18 school year.
There is a $50 fee to take the Scholarship Test, and the test format is the HSPT from the Scholastic Testing Service. Students are asked to bring two #2 pencils; calculators are not permitted. Each student may bring a drink and a snack, and they are invited to dress comfortably.
